Hand-forged blade made from high carbon 1084 steel. This blade features a Brut de Forge ricasso showing the marks of its creation by fire, hammer and anvil.
A strong distal taper from handle to tip for a robust center at 55mm high with a full-flat grind, coming to a sharp, but durable edge for chopping and slicing larger fruits, meats and vegetables, but tapers down to a fine point for more delicate cuts.
The handle on this piece is a stunning construction of Elm Burl wood for the main section, then alternating layers of black G10 and brass, with a 1" leather stack. It's oval shape sits comfortably in either the left or right hand.
Please do NOT put this high-carbon steel knife in the dishwasher! 😭
Simply hand-wash after use and dry with a towel. Give it a little oil every now and then depending on how hard you use it.
